AI Day at empiriecom - learn, share, repeat

AI is no longer a trend that you follow at some point. It is the foundation on which we, as a technology company in e-commerce, will build the next few years. At empiriecom, we decided not to leave it to chance - and the great thing about it is that the idea didn't come from the top. AI Day was a bottom-up initiative that grew because the desire for it was felt across all teams.

Our experts are already in our company

Before AI Day was even an idea, we took a look around - and realized that the knowledge was already there. Our engineering team is constantly working with AI - not as an experiment, but as an integral part of our daily work. We are joined by colleagues from Product, Data and other teams who contribute their own experience and perspectives.
What was missing: a common space to bring it all together.

12 sessions. 80 minds.

3 rounds, 4 sessions simultaneously in each round - prepared and moderated by our own experts. No external speakers, no compulsory PowerPoint presentations. Real knowledge from real use cases - directly from our platform and our everyday lives.
The topics speak for themselves:
A deep dive into our image search - how we extract features to provide customers with truly suitable outfit recommendations. The leap from simple language models to real AI agents - and what this means in concrete terms for an e-commerce platform like ours.
In between: prompt crafting as a real discipline, AI as a personal coaching tool, Claude Desktop live in action and the hidden levers in AI tools that make the difference between good and very good output.

What we took away

No colleague left the day the same way he or she came in. The final round showed: The potential is huge - and the will to use it is just as great among us. What follows now depends on what the colleagues wanted. More depth in individual topics. More room for experimentation. More of it.

The AI Day was not a conclusion. It was a starting signal.
